About the Author ECKART W. SCHMIDT, PhD, is a consultant in hazardous materials handling and disposal. Dr. Schmidt is the principal author of Raketentreibstoffe (Rocket Propellants) as well as numerous scientific papers and technical reports. A second edition of Raketentreibstoffe, translated into English (Rocket Propellants) and substantially expanded to several volumes, is in preparation. He is an Associate Fellow of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics. He is an Affiliate Associate Professor at the University of Washington in Seattle and co-teaches a class on Chemical Rocket Propulsion.
